Rain walked steadily toward the open earth known as a den. Her auds were layed flat and she looked completely washed out. There were marks on the earth's fine soil, where Rain had been dragging her paws along its surface. Her crystal blue orbs stared lazily at the ground, full of her agony and the pain soon to come. She wondered who Dragon would choose. Yes, Rain just wanted everyone to be happy, but in this case that was impossible. She knew Dragon would have to choose between her or the new femme. This made Rain angry.
"I was here first, does that count for anything? I mean, I actually had time to get to know him and have time to fall in love. Ardra, on the other hand, probably hasn't known him for what, less than a week? Give me a break!"
Her dial tilted to the sky as tears came streaming down, the only way for her to make her broken heart visible. There was a small thud as she sat her rump on the ground, still watching the sky as if asking for answers. The more she thought about Dragon, the more she loved him. It was like a curse, the sting of love.
There was silence from then on, only thoughts. She thought about the choice he had to make sooner or later. The agony all three would feel. Her thoughts ran deeper, as if getting to the logic of the problem. If Dragon shall choose Ardra, I will still be loyal to my king...if you would call it that. I guess I could hide in the shadows, but remain in the east... She was beginning to consider herself outmatched. It wasn't that she thought low of herself, but more like preparing for the worst if it were to come. There was a chance she would live the lonely rode and become a mess. She would become bruised and battered, and perhaps even broken. She was already, and only Dragon's love could heal her heart's wounds.
