Rain made her way cautiously through the trees toward a large lake. Her orbs focused on the rippling water as she neared the bank. Her presence was silent and her movement swift. Her pace slowed as she approached the lake, still watching the still water. A smooth wind rushed by, sending a chill through Rain's body. Slowly she stepped toward the water's edge. Finally, she reached the water and lowered to the ground. She began lapping up water, still making only a silent sound. Suddenly, she stopped. Her blue orbs looked before her at the calm waters. Her auds pricked and turned to behind her. She listened, waiting for a sound that didn't come from herself or the wind. All she heard was the rustle from the trees. Swiftly, she turned her dial and took a glance behind her, only to reveal none's presence. She sat up and began grooming herself, licking her paw gently before rubbing it across her face. For the moment Rain was a loner, but she wanted more than a lonely life.

Soft paws carried thin body towards the lake. White paw forward, black paw forward. Right paw forward, left paw forward. Gentle pawsteps made little noise, muffled by the hard earth that the tom walked on. Upon reaching the beautiful sparkling lake, he was slightly surprised to see another. But he smiled, glad that he was not as alone as he thought he was. He made sure that he approached her from the front, so as not to startle her. He dipped his head in greeting.
"Good morning madame. I don't believe I've met you before. My name is Dragon, and I am King of the Eastern Territory. Who might you be?"
The tom was glad he had remembered his manners after so many long seasons of not talking to any cat. Mother would be proud. He thought jokingly, even though it was true. He could imagine her smiling at him, but it made him sad. He had always wondered if he could have saved her. And most of the time he blamed himself for her death. He realised that he must look strange, because he felt his eyes cloud, giving him a sad, distant look. He had seen his reflection when he had done it before. It made him look like he wanted to be somewhere else. He didn't want the she-cat to feel like he didn't want to be near her or anything, so he concentrated on others things.

Rain, who had stopped grooming and placed her paw back onto the ground simetric to the other, watched the king curiously. She nodded at his comment, then redied herself to speak. "I am Rain, but I have no mighty rank I can add on. I am a simple loner, nothing more, nothing less." She said, sighing. She chuckled to herself then looked up to Dragon. "I am sorry to intrude!" She added. Her voice was gentle and soothing. She didn't jump at Dragon's sudden presence, something she thought she would've done. Perhaps it is the comfort of the eastern borders surrounding me. The eastern is always caring, they would never harm... These thoughts comforted her curiousity, and she smiled at Dragon, her mind free of question once more.

Dragon nodded thoughtfully, but did not speak immediately. He gazed off to some unknown place over her shoulder. He had too many memories, and he always remembered them at the worst possible times. Sometimes a single word could get him lost for hours. He had to focuse. He stood and shook himself, then sat back down. He knew it would seem strange, but most things he did were strange. He slowly began to respond.
"Don't be sorry, Rain. I was a loner once, and so I understand how hard it is sometimes."
His eyes showed that he meant what he said, as did his deep, gentle voice. Most things about him were gentle, as thats what he was. He smiled at her. She seemed to keep changing her expressions, just like he had when he was a loner. First he was sad, then happy, and then puzzled. Must be some sort of side-effect! He smiled at the thought. He realised that his attention was drifting. He had a short attention span or something... At least he didn't wander off all the time like some annoying people did.
OOC: Don't think that was a very good post... I've got writer's block.

Rain nodded then turned her attention to a tree on her left. She stared only a few moments then began to groom herself once more. Licking her paw then rubbing her face gently, which her bright blue eyes hidden as she clamped them shut. A wind blew by, and Rain paused for a moment to enjoy the breeze. The wind slowed then eventually it vanished. Rain placed her paw back beside the other. She watched the lake for a while, not really wishing to speak, not that she had anything to say in the first place.

Dragon also stopped talking. He opened his mouth and scentedthe air. He knew he had smelled mouse. He glanced at Rain and wondered if she would mind if he did a bit of hunting in the middle of a conversation. It seemed like days since he had last eaten. And it probably had been. He was so... unfocused these days. Finally, he said,
"S'cuse me for a moment.."
And trotted off. He found the mouse quickly, and pounced on it, swiftly killing it. Then he hesitated. Should he eat it here? Or should he bring it back? It was rude to eat in front of people. He could share with her. But he hardly knew her. Wouldn't it be kind of weird to share food with a stranger? He realised that she was probably wondering where he had gone, so finally he burried his preyand trotted back.
"Sorry about that..."
He mumbled.

Rain nodded and turned her attention back to the lake when Dragon had dissapeared into the trees. She watched it, wishing to be more like the lake, so peaceful and beautiful. She sighed, then turned away from the lake. After a few moments she began grooming again, licking her paw then rubbing her face gently. Her blue eyes were hidden as she clamped them shut. There was some rustling in the trees, and Rain paused, looking to the brush. Dragon came, and Rain placed her paw on the ground, semetric to the other. She listenedto his words, and smiled weakly. "That's quite alright," she said, then looking to her paws. She took in a deep breathe then looked back to the lake, not really having anything to say.

Dragon nodded again. It had gotten awfully quiet between them, and he wondered if he had done something wrong. He did not ask her, and pushed the thought out of his mind. What could I have done anyways? He asked himself. He began to scratch at the ground boredly. The silence was depressing. He looked around for anything to talk about. He would have asked her what her favourite type of prey was, but if she said 'mouse', then he would feel guilty. He thought a little more. And idea walked across his mind like an old lady would walk across the street (hah, random).
"If you were going to join a territory, which territory would you join?"
He asked slowly. He realised that he was hoping she would say his, but he didn't know why. He blinked. Its probably just because I'm pathetically lonely. He thought bitterly. He realised he was no longer looking at Rain but at the sky. He wondered why until it hit him. Litterally. A sudden drop of rain hit his nose. He had been concentrating so hard on having a nice conversation with Rain, he hadn't noticed the dark clouds rolling through the sky. He sneezed, but otherwise ignored the rain. There wasn't very much of it anyway.

Rain turned her attention once more to Dragon, who was now making an attempt to save the conversation. She thought for a moment, not excactly knowing how to answer. "Well, I know I wouldn't go to the north. Hmm...perhaps notthe south either. East or West most likely." She said, completely forgetting for the moment that Dragon was king. She smiled, her smile more complete than before. Her eyes had a sparkling gloss over them, but then the rain came. The first drop Rain felt was on her paw, but Rain made no attempt to escape the water falling from the sky. It made the theme seem more, romantic?
OOC: I couldn't think of anything, so I put romantic...lmao!

OOC: Lol! Dragon nodded. He didn't know why she was smiling, but he smiled back anyway. He shook his wet fur a bit, then blinked and sat down again. He had nothing to talk about anymore. Rain wasn't part of the Eastern Territory, so he didn't really want to bring her into the dens. Besides, she wasn't dieing, she actually seemed to be enjoying the rain. It made sense, her name is Rain, she likes the rain. He opened his mouth and let the cool droplets go into his mouth and run down his throat. OOC: I have nothing to right about

Rain laughed softly at his actions. She smiled again then turned to the lake to drink. She knelt down and began lapping up water gently, not wildly like a dog. She looked up, not brining her dial but a few inches from the water's surface. The sky was cloudy, yes, but it seemed to have the sunset's tint to it. She sat up and turned her dial to see Dragon before watching the sky again. "I think I would join the eastern territory..." she said finally, still facing the opposite direction from Dragon.
OOC: sry, crappy post...

He smiled. "Most people would, I believe." He said jokingly. He grinned, showing sharp fangs. He winked at her. "Your welcome to join anytime." He said He looked at the red-tinged clouds that were sinking in the west, which always seemed so far way. And no matter how far you went, you never got any closer to it. It was a mystery, but one that Dragon thought shouldn't be solved. A biting itch brought him back to reality, and he scratched fiercly before looking back at Rain. The rain had pretty much stopped by now. He walked to sit beside her and he also lapped up some water. It was easier to get at than the rain water, and it quenched his thirst better. He looked into the lake. A white cat with a black eyepatch, cloudy blue eyes and black toes just barely visinle stared back at him. The white cat constantly had ripples go through him, making him blurry. Dragon stared at it a moment more before retreating farther back to lie down.

Rain sat up and looked at Dragon. She smiled and nodded at Dragon's words. "Alright, count me in!" She said, carrying a daring look upon her face. She laughed a little, looking back out beyond the water's edge. "Although, I've always been a loner. I've never been part of a territory." She said, her expression now soft. "The closest thing I've had to a family of cats is a human, a boy." She said, starting to get a sad touch to her words. The memories all came back, all at once. She shut her eyes tightly, only to open them and all thoughts fade.

Dragon nodded and smiled, but the smile faded when Rain became unhappy. "Memories can be painful..." He said, gazing out into the waves. He stopped thinking about sad things and smiled weakly at her. "Well, you and me are the only two members in this territory, so lets celebrate by eating something. Would you like to get something yourself, or should I give you a present?" He said it smiling as though it was supposed to be funny, but he was serious, really. He nodded in the direction of other parts of the territory. ''And then, I'll give you the grand tour!"

Rain smiled, her thoughts mended by his simple words. She nodded, emitting a small giggle. "I suppose that I could hunt for myself, unless of coarse you are insisting on giving me a gift." She said, getting up to walk. She watched him, thinking about the rest of the land. This was the only thing she had seen, what was the rest like? Rain walked closer to Dragon, waiting for him to reply. "I'm ready when you are..." she whispered, her voice like golden rain.
